"Got any ideas Napoleon?" Illya leaned against the old oak door and smiled
maliciously.
"A few partner mine."
"No doubt that lovely young lady downstairs would be pleased to hear about,
but I was referring to how to get us out of this mess."
"You have no sense of adventure." Napoleon pouted as he brushed his hand
against the fine wool of his tuxedo.
"Oh I have a wonderful sense of adventure." Illya responded waspishly. "I
bought the recruitment line remember?"
Napoleon turned from the Cheval mirror and frowned, "You want to run that by
me again partner?"
"Join UNCLE, see the world, meet strange and interesting new people, it was
all in the brochure." Illya snapped again as Napoleon came forward and tied
his bowtie around his neck a little too tightly.
"You're over exaggerating."
"Bozhe Moi! Napoleon you will strangle me."
"Don't tempt me." Solo warned. "Besides she is pretty how hard can it be."
"You know the trip to the country was nice, the fact that we are standing in
the middle of a house which once belonged to the horror author Lovecraft,
should have given me a clue. That the deal for this information on the
paranormal revolves around my marrying said grand daughter makes me feel
like a whore. This whole scenario is too far left of centre for my liking
Napoleon and I get brutal when I am intimated."
"Yes I am aware of that Illya. Besides if this information is true and the
old man was able to commune with the other side," Napoleon rolled his eyes
and laughed softly, "it may give us the edge we need."
"Assuming of course you believe in all that mumbo jumbo in the first place."
Illya retorted. "I don't like this Napoleon." Illya shuddered and determined
he would not give Napoleon the satisfaction of knowing he did in fact
believe in all the mumbo jumbo and he was spooked by it, something was not
right.
"What the marriage or the source?" Napoleon pulled him back from his
disquiet.
"The fact that Waverley has agreed to this cockeyed scheme."
"The union will not be legally binding Illya. You will only be married for
the duration of the affair."
"For your sake Napoleon it had better not be, I would hate to end up
languishing in jail for bigamy." Illya glared and walked out the door.
