(with apologies to Jatona for relocating the last scene to the proper room) >>He pulled the blond back into an embrace just as the door to the gymnasium opened and Napoleon Solo entered.<< Napoleon noted all three men had anticipated his entrance, and wished his head would ache less. Illya pulled out of the embrace and introduced his first teacher to his new partner, adding, "You should ask him to teach you as well -- he's the finest swordsman I've ever seen." "That's hardly fair," Duncan replied. "You've seen very few Immortals in action. My cousin Connor is far better than I." "Connor would argue the point," Waverly said, "and rightfully so. Where is he these day, if I might ask?" "Ranching in Argentina. You didn't know?" "I'm busy trying to keep track of the bad guys, which I'm far less successful at than I'd wish. I can't spare the resources to track Immortals, even the ones I'm hoping remain alive." Changing the subject, he asked, "Which would you prefer, to continue with Mr. Kuryakin, or to take Mr. Solo under your wing?" Before Duncan could reply, all four men were hit with the headache that signaled the presence of another of their kind, and he and Waverly quickly moved to place themselves between the newcomer and the two new Immortals. The door opened, revealing Amanda, stunning in a fashionable pantsuit. "Alec, darling," she cooed, kissing the UNCLE head on the cheek, "it's been *such* a long time. Miss me?" "Amanda, what are you doing here?" Duncan asked before Waverly could answer her. "I thought I'd drop by and help. It isn't as though I'd never taught UNCLE agents before." Duncan's skeptically raised eyebrow was answered by Waverly. "Indeed, she was one of our Survival School's first -- and finest, I might add -- instructors." "What did she teach -- Cat Burglary 101?" "We could hardly call it that," Waverly said in a slightly miffed tone. "The official title of the course was 'Ingress and Egress'." Duncan stared, open-mouthed, at the two of them, while Illya whispered to Napoleon, "My second favorite course."
