The
Not-So Urban Myth Affair |
Solo carried Illya through the darkened corridors with an almost unearthly ease. By the time the various security agents had figured out what was going on and equipped themselves with torches he was gone.
Coming out in the underground parking Solo carried Illya towards a vehicle and placing the sleeping Russian in the passenger seat firmly buckled him in. Climbing into the drivers side he looked towards Illya and for a moment his expression changed.
Napoleon reached over and lightly brushed the sleeping Illya's forehead with his lips, an expression of immense pain appearing on his face. Then he once more became expressionless, driving swiftly past the guards and through the opening gate.
Solo drove swiftly through the streets, a sudden downpour having caused them to empty, and out of the city towards the nearby jungle.
He drove for what seemed like hours. Until dark fell. Until the petrol tank emptied. On the last gasp of fuel Solo steared the car into the underbrush. It was as Solo was climbing out of the stranded car that Illya began to awaken. Solo dashed around to the passengers side and assisted Illya out of the car.
"Napoleon? What are we doing here?"
Solo lifted Illya once more off his feet and began to carry him into the jungle. But this time it was not so easy. No longer was he dealing with a sleeping compliant Illya.
"Napolean! Put me down! What do you think you are doing!" Illya began to struggle, not wanting to harm Napolean but still determined to be put on his own feet.
Solo set the struggling Russian on the ground and taking Illya's head and neck carefully in his hands choked him once more into unconsciousness. Once more a fleeting expression of pain passed across Napolean's face before he liftd the helpless Russian and again headed off into the jungle.
