The Not-So Urban Myth Affair
Round Robin
Part 22 - By Deborah

********* "Yes" Sepheram said eventually. "He is our leader, he leads us in every moral and ethical decission. Even though he is no longer in a tangible form, humanity as a whole lives by His laws. To not do so is a crime. " He explained. "Some of us have forgotten him or become misguided. Those are considered false religions by those who know the truth, but naturally with any false idol, they will insist they are real, and unfortunatly some humans have fallen for the ploy". "That is interesting. We mate with those of our own sex, it is seen as more....honerable" Scholar mused. ~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Doctor hurried along to Solo's office, where he found Illya alone, nursing a cup of tea and staring out of the window.

"Ah, Mister Kuryakin. Just the err....man I wanted to see. Yes, just the man. Now, you are well aware of the changes you have undergone...in the interests of science, and the preservation of some very intersting facets of your genetic makeup, I would like to discuss some experiments with you. Now, I propose some blood test to find out what your hormone levels are doing, and then artificial insemination. If you conceive, we can arrange for you to be off active duty and so we can keep regular tabs on you, and monitor your condition. Just think, this could me more exciting than Louise Brown! (for those who don't know, she was the worlds first test tube baby). " he rubbed his hands in glee.

"Illya, while I don't agree with all the details the good doctor is planning, I do think it would be a good idea for you to stay off duty when you do conceive" Napoleon interjected as he walked in.

Illya put his cup still half full on the window sill and turned around, his eyes cold but his face strangely blank. "I believe I have every right to decided what happens to me. And I chose not to go with either course of action. " he stated calmly.

"But mister Kuryakin, think of the information, the science being lost!" the Doctor tried to argue. "You are merely interested in your next paper and any scientific recognition you could get. You are not interested in myself, or any potential babies I have. If I ever chose to have any, you will not be my physician. Now, would you please leave the room. "

When the doctor remained steadfastly standing there, Illya glared at him and yelled "OUT!" The doctor, smart enough to realise that angering a section 2 agent was not smart, fled.

"and you, Polya, I thought you had more respect for me. Listen very carefully, I will only say this once. Did it ever occur to you that like yourself, I want to have a career? I am not going to become a stay at home person, father, mother, whatever. I will also not let any children of mine be raised by nannies. Furthermore, I will not give Thrush a weapon to use against me like this. I am no more a woman than you, Napoleon. Please do not treat me as such. "

With that statement, Illya slipped out of the room, leaving a slightly surprised Napoleon behind.
