The
Not-So Urban Myth Affair |
Hours past and Scholar was about to leave her post to get an update when Genesis stepped into the room.
"Report?"
"Specimen two was incompatible and lost the life force within him, we almost lost him as well since he bled quite heavily. I took into account that you would still wish to keep the specimen alive and did all that we could to keep it alive. It is now resting but will be far to weak to move for at least several days."
"Acknowledged. And Specimen one?"
"The body has accepted the experiment and as of now has two growing life forces in his womb. One is from the result of the seed from its mate, and the other from our own genetic makeup. He too is resting at this time and so far is showing no ill effects. We have sped up normal growth since it takes the human species nine earth months to give birth, our accelerated growth will only take 2 weeks."
"Excellent all is proceding as planned."
"What of Specimen 2? Do you wish to have him terminated or kept for further testing?"
"Neither, for now. We may need him to help with Specimen one to complete the birth process. Keep them seperated for the time being. I will speak with them both shortly."
Just as Genesis left the room, Scholar turned to her monitors and switching them on could see her two species in there cells. The blond was sleeping, while the other one was sitting up in bed staring at the floor. Spotting something Scholar had the monitors close in for a closer look and saw something wet coming from the dark ones eyes.
"They are called Tears."
Scholar turned and confronted Sepheran who stood behind her with his arms secured behind his back.
"Tears? What are tears?"
"They are a normal function of humans. Tears are an outward expression of emotion. Sometimes it is when a human is happy or in pain. But in this case sadness I suppose."
"Sadness? Missing his mate?"
"Perhaps, or because of the experiment..."
"Illogical, they have suffered no pain from this experiment?"
"To you perhaps, but there are other forms of pain. Pain from the heart. Worse then any pain in the world. Because it does not go away and it lingers and carries on inside the human heart all the way into there soul."
"What...is Soul?"
Sepheran shrugged his shoulders.
"The essence of a human. The very fabric of them. Every human is suppose to have one. A soul. But I have never seen it, nor any other human being. Just another one of our beliefs which do not interest you."
"I did not say your human species beliefs do not interest me, I said simply that they do not hold interest in my current experiment. However I am willing to branch out as you humans call it. I cam curious about this soul you speak of...perhaps you would like to demonstrate to show yours?"
His eyes widened for a moment and then he lowered his eyes.
"To do that I would have to die, and for now you need me."
"Perhaps...very well, maybe you would be of more interest to me in another experiment?"
Curious but caustious, Sepheran didn't see the weapon until the last minute. Then there was darkness.
Scholar turned to her fellow beings and nodded.
"Is there some of the vial seed 2 still available?"
"Yes, Scholar."
"Excellent, I wish to find out why specimen two was not compatible and one was. Take this being and have him submitted to the process and impregnate him with the remainder of the seed. Monitor him closely and inform me of all that occurs."
Removing the body, the aliens left the room, just as Doctor Egret entered.
Returning to her equipment, Scholar began to look over her notes and past acquired information when Doctor Egret cleared her throat to get the aliens attention.
"Yes, Doctor Egret? What may I do for you?"
"I have full filled my part of the bargain and seen to the capture of the UNCLE Agents but so far you and your people have not captured Alexander Waverly...have you forgotten our bargain?"
"Is the project you working on complete?"
"I just finished and handed it over to Genesis."
"Excellent." Scholar returned to her work.
"Did you hear me? I want Waverly, we made a deal!"
Facing the human Scholar looked on at her unattached.
"Deal? What is deal?"
"Your promise to get me Waverly, you agreed..."
"Did I? Humans, how fascinating how you hold so dearly to your morals and principles and promises when it concerns yourselves, but never when it may benefit the other." She paused and then shrugged. "Other then the human specimens one and two, your species has shown little favor to us with your pettiness and emotional war like nature. I am beginning to believe that the Supreme Leader was accurate and that conqueoring you would be far to much work. Perhaps it would be easier to merely destroy most of you and keep only a few survivors for collective, labor and experiment purposes."
Biting her lip, Dr Egret started to protest but Scholar continued.
"I have finished most of my procedures and have made my report to the Leader, save your breath about wishing to speak to him. He will not be persuaded by you or any other human species. You and the human race have shown your true selves and I have had enough with dealing with your low life presence."
It was over before Dr Egret could speak. Her body lay crumbled to the floor, then a moment later it vanished. Turning away, Scholar collected her equipment and headed to her specimens cells to speak with them.
