The Not-So Urban Myth Affair
Round Robin
Part 8 - By Loke

Napoleon could hear the far away sound of the rescue chopper, but was more concerned with the closer sound of THRUSH agents beating the bushes -- literally -- for their missing prisoner and his partner. He wondered who would find them first.

As the sound of chopper blades grew louder he was grateful to hear the THRUSHes swearing and moving off. A short time later he heard more people thrashing through the bushes, and recognized several voices as fellow agents.

"Over here!" he called out to them, and within half an hour he and Illya were aboard the chopper and headed to the nearest UNCLE facility for medical treatment and debriefing. Fortunately, the Bangkok HQ had an overseas relay as well as fully-staffed infirmary, and as soon as Napoleon had made sure Illya was getting expert treatment he was on the line with his superior Alexander Waverly.

"Did you recover the data pack of that downed U.S. spy satellite?" Waverly asked. "It's vitally important the contents not fall into the wrong hands."

"I had it," Napoleon answered, "but it was lost with my clothing."

"Which means it's probably now in THRUSH hands. If you returned to the island, do you think you might be able to be captured once more?"

"If I was the data pack might already be out of their hands. I have the Intelligence sections of all Asian offices on the lookout for anyone offering the data for sale."

"A excellent strategy. How is Mr Kuryakin faring?"

"Well enough, considering his injuries, sir. Broken wrist, broken rib, bruised ribs, sprained ankle, a lot of bruises, and a slight concussion. He'll be on light duty at least 6 weeks until his arm's out of that cast."

"Unless he ignores Medical, as is his usual behavior when you might be going into peril." Usual behavior for both men, if the other was endangered, and Waverly well knew it. "Keep me apprised of any developments on your end. Waverly out."

Napoleon closed his end of the overseas relay and waited for both his partner and news of the missing data pack.
